Its The Big Christmas Post With Grammie and Grandpa!
The Creation of Awesome Art Trees to Welcome Grammie and Grandpa to our festive home.

They are here! Let the fun and festivities ensue!

First up... Candy Cane Cookies with Grammie.

The Christmas Eve Children's Service. Do you want to know how to get Simon to make this face? I won't give my entire secret away but three words that were whispered in his ear were: "If", "Naughty", and "Santa." I'm kidding. I wouldn't do that. I have no idea why he made the face. Maybe he was trying to intimidate the photographer.

After the service the boys were allowed to open their presents to each other. Finn got Simon a cool Lego box to store his special fire Legos inside and Simon got Finn a cool Green Lantern Superhero figure and jet fighter.

After a quick change into Christmas pajamas and a read through of the Night Before Christmas it was off to bed for the agonizingly long last sleep before Santa.

But then it was time to open the presents!

These are some spoiled little boys. Finn's new words this week are "Yeah", "No" (no more head nods and shakes) and "WOW!" which he uttered first thing when he saw the play kitchen from Santa.
Simon enjoyed looking at the past year's pictures with Grammie and Grandpa.

Then, while most of the country is in the grips of nasty weather, we put on some light jackets and all went out to play in a brief period of sunshine.

Throwing is hard enough when the ball doesn't have a tail.

Every holiday, these days it seems, must have a silly dance-pose photo of the boys and me.

After the game of catch it was RIDE RIDE RIDE.

Finally the long, wonderful day was closed with a fantastic dinner (Finn discovered Lefse and pickled beets) with two times through A Christmas Story. Simon was fixated with frozen tongues, the Bumpass hounds, and "How do the piggies eat?". Finn was happy to get more sleepy snuggles with Grandpa on a full belly.
Grammie and Grandpa are off to visit with other relatives today. We sure have enjoyed having them here. We are sad to see them off.
Merry Christmas to the rest of our friends and families! We hope your holiday was as full, loving, and wonderful as ours.

Stay tuned for the Big New Years Post with Boo and Pops!

Thanks for allowing us a glimpse into your holidays - LOVE seeing that Gen and Jim are having a great time, what a blessing they can see all of you more often. I miss them bunches but can see what joy you four bring to them. I also enjoy the great pictures of all of you, what a privilege to keep up on your family so far away.
