We have so much to be thankful for this year. The Beery boys are now 3 and 5. Finn, as you will see, spends much of his time covered in delicious sugary confections. Simon is intent on becoming some sort of magical, web slinging, super-knight, ninja-gardener.
Simon was super excited with the plethora of grand gifts he received. He thanks you all for the well wishes and presents.
These are Simon's delicious peppermint chocolate birthday cupcakes. If you're wondering what Finn's face is so red in the rest of the pictures- its peppermint shmutz.
Harry Potter must just be floating in the ether. Simon has suddenly become fascinated with a boy wizard but has seen not even one of the movies. Go figure. Enjoy our little Hogwarts with cinnamon stick wands.
Last week was also the time to say farewell to Simon's grand pumpkin. He courageously let me slice it in half and then he and I de-seeded it. He and his Mother roasted it. He and his Mother and Finn made batter and then baked it into two delicious loaves of pumpkin bread. Simon truly took this pumpkin from a seed at his pre-school to bread. We are so proud of our 5 year old gardener and baker and he was so proud to be the first child in a decade to provide his pre-school teacher with a slice of fresh pumpkin bread made from a class project six months ago.
YUM!
