It was a very typical July Holiday except that the weather was just fine- not the usual blustery cold spitting mess that it is in Port Angeles. We took advantage buying fireworks from a local high school club, attending a neighbors backyard cookout where the boys took a quick dip in the pool and jumped on the trampoline, lit a few parachutes and smoke bombs and then took a quick breather before the parade. The parade was nice. The boys chased candy and we watched the stream of cars, trucks and politicians. We grabbed some pizza. We headed down to the pier and caught the last set by some local rock kids and then perched on a planter box to watch the fireworks. They were nice; short of spectacular but nice. Can you sense a touch of "I'm ready to get outta here?" yeah me too... We made sure for the boys that they had a great last holiday here in what has been their home these past six years. I think we succeeded.

So, there you have it... Keep us in your thoughts as we try to sell in one bad market where builders build cheap stuff just to stay busy and we buy in a completely different one that looks to be picking up in a more realistic way. We're excited about the prospects of the future and I can't say that the real estate market situation makes me any sadder to leave Port Angeles. I'm weary of people at work telling me they're sorry they couldn't find the future budget to keep me around. People look shocked when I retort: "I chose to do this and I found a better job." I understand how people who live here can't comprehend how people would want to leave their gray paradise, but I think you all might agree that the Beerys made it much more colorful while we lasted. So....
Posting might be slow for the next month as we prepare to move on (lucky you- that means no more rants from me) and then you should expect a flurry as we have news on a new home and begin adventuring about in our new place of choice.
Cheers and hope you all had a wonderful 4th of July!
