The Halloween blog.

We had a nice All Hallow's Eve.  This is a pretty good place for Halloween.  It rained all day and then set up into an overcast and mild night.  We have gorgeous leaf colors with half of them still on trees and the other half drifting down sidewalks in breezy streams.  There were lots of curmudgeons with curtains drawn and just as many worried about their own  afterlife holed up in a study group elsewhere.  But for all the dark houses there were also great numbers of community members ready with smiles and treats for the parade of ghouls and princesses marching up and down the usually quiet streets of Coulee Dam.  Several houses were decorated to high standards and the boys overflowed their baskets without leaving the neighborhood!  Our neighbors even gave them a bone rattling scare in their traditional haunted garage.  Katherine the Sweet Witch of the  Northwest stayed home to hand out spooky treats to the plethora of students who were excited to see the alter ego of Mrs. Beery behind the big wooden doors.
