We had a very eventful vacation to Montana with the boys. I am still bordering on exhaustion so I'll keep the pictures plentiful and the verbage brief.

Simon got reacquainted with Roger and Dianne and Finn made new friends with them. Roger is a friend of mine from graduate school days at UM and he and Dianne have now adopted my parents as their friends in Missoula.

Simon made 4th of July Homeade Ice Cream with his Great Aunt and Godmother Lynn and Grammy.

Finn hung out with Great Uncle (and soon to be Godfather) Bill by Aunt Lynn's Crack-Garden.

Great Grandpa Mark even got in on some picture action.
Before we left Missoula we had to check out my parents' new crib. They can't wait to move in

Then it was off to Wolf Point (another 8 hours east of Missoula) to see the farm and visit with My Godmother Doris. She's 93 and as vibrant as ever!

My Parents did the Modern American Gothic thing in the lane above the farm.

Katie and I rubbed tummies in the back pasture and both boys tried to hide in shame.

Grandpa introduced Simon to some Cattle in the back pasture but my old friend badger wasn't around to "visit".

Simon and Grandpa spent a couple hours cruising the farm on the lawn tractor.

They also went to visit some friends with some interesting older John Deeres.

Simon took advantage of the headwind and practiced his imaginary tractor racing skills with Grandpa's help. Look at him go!

The Simon got in on some real action while Grandpa and his friends helped another farmer lift a toolbar he bought from Grandpa on his Lo-Boy. Right as they lifted it off the ground with three tractors and freight train roared by. Simon thought that was better than the Super Bowl!

We spent time hiking in the pasture behind the house.

Simon thought the independence was just fine.

It was a big weekend, We didn't get pictures of the Rodeo that included a team of sheep herding, dog riding monkeys and a buch of intoxicated fools racing wild horses. But we did get some good shots of the Wild Horse Stampede Parade. Simon thought the free candy was awesome!

He even posed with his mom in front of the Montana Army National Guard Trucks.

One afternoon it was actually hot enough for a swim. Check out those fancy pools!

Even I got in on the action.

As the trip wound down it was time for fun on the stairs.
Here's a big leap at Doris' house.
Finn sampled the houseplants while Grammy and Simon played Twinkle Twinkle.
Simon and Grammy read lots of books.

Finn and Grandpa hung around and played some ball.
One more portrait with Grammy and Grandpa at the farm and then it was time to go home to Port Angeles.
