It seems like ages ago that we were on the farm visiting Grammy and Granpdpa and almost as soon as we got home Uncle Josh and Aunt Arden flew in to visit the boys and sample the eclectic landscapes and activities of the Olympic Peninsula. We all had a fantastic time with Arden and Josh! We all spent a beautiful day at Hurricane Ridge.

Katie and the boys took them out to Ediz Hook while I worked.

Simon and Finn learned how to dog pile someone other than thier Dad (thanks for the break boys!)
Josh partook in some watering and tree inspection.

Joh also hogged all of the Finn snuggles (and camera time! Where's Arden?)

Simon showed Josh his laserbeam rocket of an arm (lookout Josh is in the center of the frame and headed rigth for the bridge of you nose).

I convinced Josh to pretend he was a cross between a Limbo Stick Attendant and Rodeo Clown in the Kidney Bowl at the Skatepark. That was enough to scare Josh and Arden home to North Carolina.

So since then we have been a busy family. Simon is taking more and more interest in my skateboards.

And getting ever so brave on the walls of the skatepark. (but as you will soon see the scooter's days are numbered).

Finn is crawling over and under everything and causing all sorts of trouble. He loves to dump Simon's toy boxes and overturn unattended beverages.

Everyone got to experience the Sandcastle festival as the heat kicked up on the Peninsula last week. We had scorching, airconditionless days in the 90s for most of the week before it cooled off. But that made for a great trip to the peir for the sculptures. Above is Simon's favorite Chicken Itza (Chicken Pizza!) with a Maya Temple and a giant rooster.

And here he and his Momma pose in front of a very detailed design of the Great Barrier Reef with Hollywood Beach in the background.
The audacious heat made for a seriously cool sunset one evening that I just have to share. We are so glad the heat is over for now.
