This week is almost all about the Parents! Katie's birthday wish this year was to run 10 miles before she turned 28. Saturday morning she left the house at 8:30 and the boys and I went to the pier and picked her up 11 miles later just in time for 10:00 market! Congratulations Katie we are so proud of you. Sorry I don't have an enduro picture of her fantastic finish- I kind of had full hands with two boys in tow (we went and touched starfish at the aquarium). And me? Whether you care or not I'll tell you that I've driven to work only twice in the past three weeks (both times for late night meetings) and have racked up almost 50 miles on my bike this week alone. Above is me all nice and sweaty after 20 miles from the house to the accessible end of the Hook, to Deer Park/Morse Creek and back up the hill home.

Now that your fed up with my narcissim, you ask "how about those cute boys?" Well, it has been an eventful week for them too. Simon the Foul-Mouthed has decided to reward us with his edgy new vocabulary just in time to begin pre-school next week. Where would he pick such things up? Perhaps you might recall a line from the classic moview "A Christmas Story". At least that's Katie's opinion...

Finn the Repeller (due not to stench but to his newfound joy of catching air) has taken to launching himself out of, off, and from anything he can climb. I mean his crib, the back of the couch, the chair, the table, and any other peice of furniture in the house; let alone playgrounds, skateparks, etc. Why just this noon he bellyflopped from the back of the couch onto the kitchen floor. He's okay...at least for Finn.

Now notice I said he repels from his crib: Finn no longer sleeps in a crib and has migrated to a big-boy bed. He's currently working on sleeping in it instead of in a pile in front of his baby-gated bedroom door after an hour of calling for his Mama.
