We had a boring weekend of cleaning out filing cabinets and rearranging our multi-purpose dining-room/office into a multi-purpose dining-room with an Apple control bump-out. You'll have to imagine; I'm not about to take a picture of it but it makes for a "cleaner" space.  We did, however, make time for an outdoor adventure into the National Park that is our backyard. It may only be Marymere Falls, but it was still a great way to relax on a Sunday morning ahead of the droves of tourists who packed into the parking lot about the time we drove off for home to mow the lawn and pick vegetables before it rained. The boys (and Katie and I) have had a successful garden this year (that I will take pictures of soon). Finn and Simon love the purple lettuce, snow and sugar-snap peas, swiss chard, kale, and purple and green broccoli. We've been eating wild salmon berries, cascade blackberries and thimble berries on our evening walks. Our neighbors moved out and we've been raiding their abandoned strawberry patch and stole the potatoes they left to be otherwise overgrown. Nothing tastes better than homegrown, except foraged- or pillaged...

But onto other adventures, right?
Kindergarden is only one month away for our not-so-little climber.

Two days of pre-school a week are high on Finn's list. He's also looking forward to playing with Simon's Tag and Legos the other three mornings.

It seems we're taking more and more detours into slightly wilder places these days.

Brave boys are also getting comfortable with more distance, although as you might expect one more so than the other.

Here's what changes in a year... just not Simon's shoe size?
