Hot, Sunny, and Whining?
What's a gang to do on the Olympic Peninsula
but hit the beach early?
Who needs gritty old sand to build sand castles when there's all this driftwood?
Sand is the perfect pad for practicing some breakdancing skills.
As you can tell, Simon is heels over head for the Beach!
The water was too cold for poor Katie. She's apparently used to tropical currents- not arctic flows.
There was a surprisingly pleasant little swell today and since I dumbly didn't take my longboard I tried to use the boys for surf flotation. It didn't work so well. So we just bombed some little breakers instead. Finn braved the big ones and even let me set him up so one crashed on his head.
Simon preferred the whitewater ripples.
We were starting to burn by 1pm so we packed it in. Our poor skin is used to low light and fog. Just don't say we don't take advantage of our two days of summer sun and over 70 degree temps up here in the corner.
Now I'm off to prep some freshly caught halibut for tacos as a finishing touch for this glorious day. Hasta La Vista and Pura Vida, Amigos!
