One might think that we didn't have much fun today. We just didn't seem to take many pictures. That's what happens when you: Get up a 6am, drive to Bainbridge Island, ride the ferry to Seattle, walk through Pike Place Market, catch the monorail to the Seattle Center, see the insect room, tour the butterfly observatory, check out the dinosaur hall, spend mid-day with the treasures of ancient Egypt and King Tutankhamun's tomb, play with the water sculptures, ride the elevator to the top of the space needle, ride the monorail back to the waterfront, play with the police horses and talk with the cowboy police, and then return home at 7 pm.
King Tut was great. Maybe somewhat disappointing since there was not a single mummy to be viewed- and this archaeologist has seen mummified everything over the years... But there were some fantastic pieces that I will never see again, I am sure. There was even a statue of Imhotep and another of Ankhenaten. The blue scarab breastplate was the stuff of dreams and the gilded miniature sarcophagus/ canopic vessel was awesome. Harrison Ford narrated the movie at the beginning and I was near bliss if not for the droves of Jr. High Schoolers on a field trip and jackasses pushing strollers through the exhibit. Another criticism I had was that they had no good photo opportunities for families with replicas. So no photos for you!
But, this is what happens when the operator lady surprises us by saying "free photo" in line for the Space Needle. Boys both smile nicely. What the *&%^$#^!? Fake Background + free photo= both boys smiling nicely... Must have been the organic hand squeezed lemonade and cake pops...We are exhausted and now Katie is yelling from the other room...good night.

Looks like an awesome day, and that's a great family photo, even with the fake backdrop!
