We're well into the swing of Birthday things. Finn is 4 today! Simon will be 6 in 11 days. Where does time go?

The Finn-ster awoke to a mammoth stack of presents. He tried to open them first at 4am. Then maybe did actually try to do some peeking a while later (we noted some torn edges). Then we made him wait until the cinnamon rolls were in the oven, the dogs were walked, and the citrus was juiced. He was about ready to burst. So was Simon. Last year Simon cried because he wanted the presents. This year the older motormouth just got all up in Finn's business and even now (at 7:30 pm) Simon is presently trying to control the present situation.

The presents were fantastic. Finn scored a western fort complete with US calvary soldiers and Native scouts, a Hulk and Thor lego set with a great jet fighter, three Ninja turtle figures to complete his TMNT gang, a cowboy hat and a new vest.



Simon is now agonizingly awaiting his Birthday.

The little cowpoke was a might bit excited.

I spent the next two hours building and then the boys trashed the living room.

While I was building Katie was decorating the Avengers cakelets she baked yesterday. These are some downright artistic individual cakes. Finn's a lucky dude.

After a supper of Finn requested supper of potstickers and pad thai we skewered the heroes with four wax sticks and lit them on fire just for him.

Finn certainly enjoyed his fourth birthday. Here he is eating his cake. For you comics fans out there I'm trying to decide if this is his J. Jonah Jamison impression since he is eating a Spiderman cake. Alternately, perhaps he should have been eating the Captain America cake...

Finn thanks you all for the well wishes, warm thoughts, gifts, and cards. Here's hoping Year Four is a great one!
