August is creeping upon us and we anxiously await the Movers. My last day is Friday with the City of Port Angeles. Our last day in this City is one week from Wednesday before we move to our new dam town. Boo and Pops Collins were here for a visit and helped paint walls, re-light the kitchen and utility rooms, and re-caulk showers.
We hope we find someone to enjoy this wonderful home. But in the meantime...

We are finding things, like the boys' growth chart on the hallway wall, that we just don't want to paint over. Both have grown at least a half inch since May! They even proved this week that they can stay in the same room together without fighting. Which is a plus since they will be sharing a room in the huge house in Coulee Dam -so they can also have a playroom as big as this whole house (not really- but close).

Boo and Pops' visit included the usual trip to Marymere Falls; where it was great to get the usual poses from the unusual suspects.
We were all sad to see them head east toward Montana on the Amtrak Empire Builder but we are sure they are enjoying the Hi-Line this week.
We somewhat enjoyed the Sand Sculpture festival this year but a bad economy equals less artists. We really liked this elephant and I enjoyed the crazy tribal octopus; but the rest of the festival was somewhat boring for future ex-locals like us who experienced the really good years.
But we had a ton of gardening to do. We've shelled two gallons of peas, picked massive amounts of green beans, eaten leeks, green onions, beets, and carrots. The tomatoes will be ready just after we leave and the pumpkins we just won't be around to see.
But berry season is going furiously. We have four varieties currently ripening in the backyard (blue, marion, logan, and straw) and three more currently blooming around the neighborhood (himalayan black, cascade black, and thimble) so we picked a six berry salad for supper tonight to accompany green beans, potato salad and ham.
Proud boys with the haul o' berries.
Unfortunately they still have a ridiculous amount of energy for a Sunday evening and are driving Katie and I to the edge of sanity. So I must now go.
