Sunday, October 27

We carved more today.  The forecast is for a blustery 24 hours  so we slayed a couple more pumpkins then set forth de-cluttering the back deck, cleaning up the garage to fit two cars, and then tidied up the front walk.

The boys designed and de-gutted all the pumpkins this year.  Katie and I operated the sharp knives. They look pretty jack o'lantern-ish, don't they? None of that fancy carving for us- just plain old scary faces.

Silly Simon, pumpkin guts are for raccoons...

After all the outside areas were tidy and neat the boys raked some leaves.  We raked and bagged the backyard walnut and hazelnut leaves yesterday but the leaf shedding Catalpa out front was just too enticing for two wild and crazy October children.  They raked a small pile and tried some leaf diving.  Not bad form for first timers.

Looks awesome! How effective was the sword at pumpkin carving? I might have to try that myself...
