Finn is five years old today! It is only 2pm and we've already opened presents, had two other four/five year olds over, eaten pizza and cupcakes and are now resting after the big deal!  Finn is having a great day. Simon is not. It's hard to watch your little brother turn into a big boy with his own party, presents, and friends.

Finn wants to thank Boo and Pops for the robe and slippers and Grammie and Grandpa for the snow gear and dragon knights.

A bit later, while Finn and Katie readied for Finn's friends to arrive- so I took Simon out of the house for a bit. He wanted to skate so we went to North Dam park for some ramp practice.

In the meantime Colin and Koen arrived for some pre-school hi-jinx.  They had a blast playing tag and hide and seek in this giant house.

Then it was time for a luncheon of cheese pizza, capri-suns, and teenage mutant ninja turtle cupcakes.

I tried to tell the boys the cupcakes would taste like algae, worms, and slime but the boys thought they tasted more like homemade chocolate cake with buttercream frosting.

Aren't they cool? They tasted great too.

The boys thought the party was pretty good. Great smiles, eh?

I also have to point out that Simon did a fantastic job of wrapping and labeling Finn's presents. I taught him how and he immediately took to it like a true elf. He's already scheming to try and figure out how to wrap his own gifts for his upcoming birthday and then Christmas.  Good Luck kid.

Anyway, Finn's now dozing on the couch watching Curious George after the busy morning (which Simon informed us started at 5am with Finn saying "Is it time?").  Katie and I still can't believe our little guy is five.

Awesome! Happy Birthday, Finn! I can't believe he is 5, either. Oh, and Katie always wanted to wrap everyone's presents, too. Josh took advantage of that so that he never had to wrap anything. (He gave me her presents to wrap.)
